Join the pop culture evolution this Saturday at Uptown Art House, as Humanoid Magazine celebrates its launch into the tangible environment. Debuting its print magazine (“Vol. 0”) and private clothing collection “A Human Mannequin,” Humanoid has coordinated live painting with resident Art House artist Maps Glover, a selfie station, and a fashion show for the evening’s festivities.
Founded by Nijel Eugene and Kelvin Streety, Humanoid strives to keep its readers updated with current and future fashion trends through sartorial Instagram posts, while also curating its own style repurposing and creating vintage clothing collections. With fashion culture in mind, a fashion-forward, futuristic, or modern grunge dress code is encouraged.
“Vol. 0” is Humanoid’s first published magazine. It aims to set the direction for future issues with commentary on male femininity, soft grunge, and trendy styling, as well as with feature profiles of local DMV creatives.
Saturday night’s vibes are strengthened by libations and sonics of Last Niight Collective, RFLN, Briley Harris + Rooftop Society, TheAntiSocial, and Kleonaptra. An “aux hour” will allow guests to join the celebration and share their musical tastes.
